    Re: exhaust rattle

I don't believe it is the exhaust as it should only rattle when the car is turned on from being cooled down. Heat expands the pipes and usually holds it in place, even if loose from the hangers. I had to get mine welded back into place to stop the rattling and haven't noticed any rattling since.

You have vag-com? Run it through.. sounds like a ping issue. If that's the case, get it fixed ASAP.

It is a diagnostic tool you use to check for fault codes through your ECU... you could bring it to a reputable shop or see if someone in the regional forums could check for you.

I would def have someone knowledgeable look at it as soon as you can.. if you're running lean (too much air in your fuel) it can really cause problems on your engine, including premature failure

Had a similar problem. Weld broke from a support bar that connected the two exhaust pipes. Did you crawl under there and take a peak?
