well, while doing a tune-up i was under the car and noticed that both my front outer CV boots are torn, looks like the passenger side has been busted for a little while since the whole boot is practically gone, the driver's side looks like it just ripped recently since it still has fluid in it. SUCKS

anywayz, long story short i've been searching and found some threads on it, kinda old threads so just wanted to make sure that RAXLES is still the cheapest and best place to get them from, or is there a better place, and what price am i looking to pay to get both front complete rebuilt axles, I plan on DIY so price for parts is all im looking for. Thanx in advance..............

    Re: CV axles

I for one would just replace the whole axle(s).

You can get them here for 104
    http://www.purems.com/products/produ...p/pn=2/CA=1481

not sure if there is a core charge but they dont disclose it. Better of calling them.

I would say at most two hours labor. I had mine changed when I changed out the clutch since they needed to remove the axles anyway.

    Re: CV axles

I'm not sure who our supplier is, but we get OEM remans for ~$65.

RAXLES are always good though. If you're into some motivated driving, tracking the car, etc, better be safe than sorry.

$65 (plus shipping) is what I am use to paying when I've had mine reman'd. And they always seem to be sent to your state.

I know we buy a lot of stuff through WorldPac, but I'm not sure if it's them or not.

Sad part is that I just paid $59/ea for upper control arms, and AXLES are $65/ea

    Re: CV axles

I got mine through RAXLES, can't go wrong. Much easier than doing the whole CV boot thing.

    Re: CV axles

I just paid $68 for a front pass. side axle from advance auto parts. Brand is GSP, which is the brand i installed on my wifes maxima a while back and they are fine so far. Made in China, of course... If they hold up for a couple years I'll feel like I got my money's worth. But they should last longer than that.
