Has anyone installed the Forge Splitter BOV with stock airbox (no airbox mod)?

Does the turbo get louder sound?

    Thanks in advance.

agreed ^ the stock DV gives out a really nice sound. Not annoying like some rice bov's out there.

The splitter will give off a small bov sound yet still send air back into circulation.

    Re: Forge Splitter

    Thanks for all the reponses.

I was thinking since the spiltter is a 40/60 air/back I would actually hear the "psssh" sound of BOV and thanks ricebeater for clearing that out.

And yeah, from what I heard the stock DV is also loud but I want more something without having to gut out the intake or spend a lot of money for a new intake.

    Re: Forge Splitter

i just bought my aem dryflow intake off ebay for under 60$ shipped. another 100 for the blinktek heatshield. its actually not much more expensive than an aftermarket dv/bov and looks/functions much better than gutting the stock box imho.

    Re: Forge Splitter

I have a forge DV and it is LOUD!!! I also have a cone intake and big turbo, but I would not want it to be louder.

I piss people off when I blow it in their face :), Its that loud.

    Re: Forge Splitter

The ratio of discharge of the Splitter is more like 80/20 recirc/atmo.

Any more atmospheric function and it would probably not work properly.

Also, because the atmospheric discharge port is higher up the height of the piston's travel than the recirc port, the valve will only vent to atmosphere under higher boost discharge levels when the piston lifts up higher. Under lower boost discharge levels, when the piston won't lift up as high, it won't make as much sound.

Installing it in combination with a high flow air filter or some other kind of intake would probably give you a fair amount of sound, close but not quite equal to a fully atmospheric blow off valve.
