    Ko4-15 = Same as ko4-001?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
This is a Q for one of my buddies that wants a ko4-20 for his A4. We were looking at the swift motorsports ko4-15 kit and didn't know if that turbo was te same as the ko4-20 or the 001?

The only problem with the ko4-20 off of the Audi TT 225 is the manifold is different and can't fit a longitudinal 1.8t.

    any help would be appreciated!

i think if you do a search you will find that the k04-20 is only for the VW guys with the transverse 1.8t. someone bought one on her from craigslist a few weeks ago an then realized it isnt used on the audi 1.8t. maybe with some heavy modification it could work i'm not very sure. correct me if i'm wrong please

its for the longitudal 1.8t it wont fit...u need a k04-15 or they have k04-15s with bigger compresser wheels and such and bigger k04 versions for our cars...(i have a ported and polished k04 with a larger more agressive compressor wheel...

K04 = waste of time except in a very few situations where getting from 0-40 is the most important factor. It's fun if your hitting every red light in Manhattan otherwise it just doesn't have enough power.

The general consensus seems to be to skip the K04 altogether.

besides the fact you should skip the k04, if they are different numbers why would you think they are the same?

I thought they were the same, because i've heard that the ko4-15 for Audi's is the same Ko4-001 for VW's. So i wondered if there was a comparable ko4-20 for non transverse motors

hehe, everybody says "skip the k04, its too slow bla bal", actually i find the GTRS to be too small aswell.. it really isnt THAT much better than a chipped car... considering all the money you lay down (coilovers, manifold, intake, tip, software, injectors, intercooler, brakes +++)..

i regret as hell i didnt go gt3071

its comparable in that its the same sized turbo but it has a different number because its designed for a different engine setup

    Re: Ko4-15 = Same as ko4-001?

too be honest with you i think my k04 setup is great and i am happy i dont have to worry bout reliability issues epecially when my car gets up there in miles...i think once im tuned on water/meth i will be very happy with the power..... i don't track my car therefore why do i need BT? for autocross or road course i think a k04 is a better choice then a BT....if i did it over again i'd probably do a 2871r but at the time when my turbo blew..this was the best option for me and i don't regret it..my car suprises me a lot for having just a k04 and holding and beating some cars that technically should beat me...very happy with it like i said i could give shit about the track.. i think 1/4 mile racing is rather boring to be honest... i enjoy ripping turns and such so it works for me
