URS4, Coupe Quattro, good buy or not?

I'm thinking about selling my beloved CBR 600 and putting the money towards a car. My '85 Coupe GT makes me nervous with winter coming. It's left me stranded several times in the past. Any car I get has to be under $10k though. Anyways, here is what I NEED.

-Must have 4 seats
-Reliable
-Fun to drive

I'm leaning towards an '02 Subie WRX. I like the small size of it, turbocharged goodness and AWD. Plus they're reliable. But a part of me would love to have a Coupe Quattro or URS4/S6. What do you guys think?

my CQ is a blast to drive in the snow (even though its SLOW)!!! i recently purchased a UrS4 and havent driven it in the snow (i'm having 2nd thoughts about driving it in the snow cause its SO clean and i might just keep my CQ for a winter beater). as of right now my S4 is my daily driver and i love this car more then my CQ and way more then my b5 a4.

i think if you get a UrS4/6 you will love it. i have had a coupe and now a s6 and the s6 is wayyyy better. and mine isnt event in the best of shape. there fast, easy to make faster, reliable with proper maintenence, comfy, ok gas milege, AWD with locking dif, no one expects it to blow the doors off them cuase they think its a 100 or a a6, more room than the coupe, oh and its one of audis more rare cars ever brought to the US. ifso facto get a UrS6 lol.

I totally agree... I just sold my coupe which i will totally miss, but when it came to owning a practical car the urS4 is the way to go. I have had lots of compliments on the coupe quattro, but it isnt as fun to drive as the S4.

The coupe lacks in power, but is a RIOT in the snow. With a simple RS2 facelift you've got Audi's sexiest body style!! Toss a 20V turbo into her and you've got a ROCKET!

Bought a 93 S4 back in March. It's my daily driver. Like it so much I'm dumping 8 grand into the motor for more HP.

Both are a great investments due to them both being REALLY rare in the USA. If you have a nice one, they'll hold their value for a long time.

I'd get the S4/S6 if I had to pick between the two. It's more fun to drive and has LOTS of potential with simple upgraded parts.

I am thinking about trading my CQ for a urS Avant. I bought the CQ 4 years ago and now I have a family which does not fit well in the CQ. If my CQ was nicer I would try and keep it and get a urS (both is the answer right?)

i would suggest a test drive of both cars. since your on the westcost and there is a 20vT CQ thats for sale, make sure you test drive this beast the thing that you need to decide on which will suit your needs. if you have a family or you and your friends go to clubs, golf outting, etc then a UrS car is for you.

you should still go test drive it and then decide if a CQ is what you want and then swap in a turbo motor.

That would be great but I don't want a project car. I already have my Coupe GT that I want to restore eventually. I need something reliable and fun out of the box.

sounds like a wrx is what you are looking for. Heck even a 2.5rs would make a great awd car. the older 2.5rs I mean ( http://www.rs25.com )

I recently listened to my inner voice also early this summer....as a result I sold my "rare" supercharged b5 a4 to buy a 95 URS6 (with a tuned RS2 AAN motor) My only regret is waiting so long to get into a platform like the S4/S6! Like many have said: Excellent comfort, lots of room, retarded power with stupid potential if to want to take it there...

My A4 was a rather "quick" car..... this S6 is flat out FAAAAAAST!!!! Huge difference!!! apples to oranges, black and white ect.....

I came from the wrx platform and can see myself going back. The 03 bugeye wrx with cobb stage two is just as fast as an STi and looks sick. Not to mention that the seats are Fucking Amazing. If you get the wagon you will have one great grocery getter!
Ps. the coupes are slow as balls but look sweet!!
