So got my suspension put on today (bilstein/HR setup) and pulled in my drive and noticed what looked like a cut on my steering link that connects to the upper control arms. Call me a total noob here, but is this normal??? Why didn't I notice such a gap before?

See crappy cell pics.. I've circled and arrowed the same "locations" to help.

Cool, thanks dirty. Guess they were so damn filthy before that I didn't notice. It's a pretty clean gap as of now, and just looked like he hacked it to get the bolts off.. was a little worried lol

No, those are reliefs for remove the ball joints. When you loosen the bolts, they open slightly to release the joints.

So you want pics, eh?? Call it a tease.. but it's all I got. Mind you this is a couple hrs after installation, and it should settle a little more..

    Re: Ummm... what?

A few months back I had to make a sudden move, and ended up with my wheel off of the curb.....So when I check my suspension, I almost shit my pants when I say that crack....I checked the other side, and hoped that it was normal,

Oh and your car should settle ALOT more!

Heres my rear wheel (H&R sport)

    Re: Ummm... what?

haha Sami, that's good stuff. I had one of those 'lightbulb goes off' moments when he said it was just a relief joint.. sorta like duh.. idiot lol

They just look so haphazardly cut, like Audi said alright there's no easy way to do this.. so let's hack each one by hand as it comes off the assembly.

And your pic makes me happy, I hope mine settles quite a bit more than it's at in my pictures! Do you remember where yours sat at after install? Granted it's different with everyone, and I'm running 3.0 springs (same rears) but just looking for reference..
