Tints or no Tints?

let's hear it? i currently have 20% all around on a dolphin grey S4 w/black leather. I'm debating on removing them. Only problem is that I just moved to florida. Can't decide? What do you guys think....

I like the look of no tints. I feel it makes the car look cleaner. Especially being able to see them recaros....

Are they legal in Florida? If yes, then its up to u. U will always find someone saying they look good or the opposite. Whatever u like :) But they do help a bit protecting your interior though.

Nah 20% is illegal. I believe 35% is legal. I could be wrong.

35% legal would be sick. its pretty dark already (depending).
I know in CA 70% front anything in the rear is legal. 70% is like no tint though :(

I'd say on Dolphin gray you could go lighter tint or no tints. If the tint you have is really good sun protection (which some just arent really...) then keep it

i say keep them...i just got tints on my a4...and they look great...and I beleive tints are illeagal in certain cities....but they make a car look nice to me

I've got 20% all around and I loved it at first. After about a year of having it on, I'm starting to dislike it a bit. I'm starting to think that it makes the car look a bit "ricey". It draws a *lot* of (unwanted) attention to the car. Everyone wants to see who is behind the tint. Shrug

keep it! I also live in FL and wish I had something other than my stock tint. its too freaking hot here.

I'd keep it in FL. 20% is too dark for me. I like ~40% but I'm up here where it's dark and rainy most of the year.

Do 50% just like what I did...Can't decide if I go dark or none at all so kept it at a minimal 50%. Looks hot on Imola...

They don't care in FL, as long as its not on some super ghetto ass ride. I lived there 10 yrs.no problems with 15% Or even a tinted windshild.The Dark tint will SAVE your interior. Keep it 954...305

Why are you going with tints?

Shouldn't just one tint be enough? Seems like a waste of money to me.

The % stands for the amount of light transmitted through the film. Either way, in or out.

I would say keep it. Especially in Florida! The tint should help your interior and keep your car slightly cooler.

I also live in FL and I have 20% all the way around and the windshield done! I have black interior and wouldn't trade it at all! Even if they gave me a problem about the tints I would just pay them and the windshield when done right you would never know while driving except the glare is minimized!

I went through the same debate with my dolphin/platinum S4. I had nothing on to start, and finally decided to go with 35%. I don't regret it at all. You can still see the white leather, visibility is for the most part decent (the self tinting mirrors can make things difficult if you leave them on though). The tint I got is more of a gray colored tint and matches the car really well.

This pictures is from dusk, so you can't see the inside that well, but in any light at all you can see inside no problem:

Thanks! Unfortunatley I don't even know what brand the spoiler is as I bought it used. It's CF though, which is tough to tell from a distance with Dolphin which I like.

I'm happy with 50% in SoCal. Enough to reduce the heat, but no too much to attract the heat

i've decided to keep them on. with the heat and sun from florida. i'll regret them. i'm now considering tinting my windshield.

It’s actually complete illegal for the fronts, 70% you can barely tell it’s tinted.
LA County is the only one that really enforces it. I spend 80% of my time in OC and the other 20% in Ventura, Only got busted once driving on the 405 in LA, got pulled over just for the tint, and then got a warning in LAX but we all know these warnings are fake.

for the OP:

i love the look of dark tint. but when you have an s4, i would want to be seen more. plus i have 20% as well and its hard to see at night/drive aggressively. i would go with no tint

Keep it! Looks great and since your in Florida you wont be hassled. Ive been there several of times and it seems every 3/5 cars are tinted.

You might melt if you don't have that tint in Florida. Your nuts if you remove it...:)
