some new photos of my AVant

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Snapped a few photos of my AVant once I parked it in the parking garage in Baltimore on Saturday.

These photos are untouched. I just cropped them a little bit. Canon SD1000 point and shoot with some adjustments on color via one of the camera settings. My hands were a bit shaky due to low blood sugar (it was 4hours since I last ate). I also have to play around with the light settings better. Some of these turned out a bit grainy. Not to mention find myself a tri-pod.

(from a few weeks ago, still need to make a heatshield for the TIP)

Don't know yet. My tune is no where near where it should be (ie: optimum for my hardware). The Avant goes back to AutoSpeed in a few short weeks for a complete rewrite of the software to maximize power and driveability.

Damn I wish my AFR's looked like that.....nice vid

The car also looks great, and Autospeed is a good choice. I love how logical their BT TIP is....makes the DV so accessible.....Also, I think some S4 door blades would really finish ur car off nicely

How much boost are you ultimately planning on running? I've got the same turbo, but with a stock bottom end. When it is finally RUNNING properly (tons of issues), I want to make about 280whp on about 17psi.....Hopefully that won't snap my engine apart

    The digital read-out? That's boost, not A/F.

Dunno what we are going to tune to. 21, 25psi? It all depends on which boost and timing advance setting we make the most power at. Higher boost doesn't necessarily mean more power.

S4 blades are too big IMHO, I'd prefer USP (slightly smaller) blades if I got any but not sure if I want either.

Lol.....I feel like an idiot....I just noticed the digital readout was at 11 when u were under boost and thought it was a spot on AFR......Yea, I knew about the boost.....I'm just curious to see what a build bottom end can do with this turbo, given the extra low end torque and higher breaking point than my flimsy stock rods

Ur car is great without the blades man. if u don't need to spend more money, dont

Me? Those are 2002 factory A4 mirrors (heated and auto-dimming) on my Avant.

As long as the tune is good we'll be able to make as much power as this hardware (turbo, head, cams, etc..) will allow. The bottom end is built strong (QED Built). Its the tune that can make or break the engine components. Right now I've got my original ASP GT28RS file detuned (timing advance retarded, boost set low) because I do not like my A/F under high boost (goes super rich). The file was never completely finished so I am being extra cautious with it and my new engine. One big reason why its getting re-written and another as to why I'm still at low boost after 3000+ miles on the new motor. Timing wasn't right (with my busy bike racing schedule) to get my car in for a retune earlier.
