    New Southbend Clutch + H&R_CO + Snub + Sways

Wow, just got my car back tonight and it has a brand new stage 3 southbend clutch in it. It really feels like the stock clutch. The pedal may be just a bit stiffer but it's so close to stock I can't really tell, heck I might be imagining it.

While it was in I had them put my H&R's coilovers on, sways and snub mount. They slammed it pretty far and I'm sure I'm going to have to raise it once it settles a bit. But I'm thrilled! I'll take some pictures once I get it cleaned up a bit - it was sitting outside for the last month :(

Now the bad news, it seems during this month of sitting outside during our monsoons that both of my front lights are fogged... Is there any way to fix this?

x2, the stock clutch is so artificial feeling. i want something where i can actually feel it biting instead of playing a guessing game with it every time

yeah take them apart and dry em or get different ones.
audi tells you that if they're really wet, to leave your headlights on for a while, since they have "vent holes".
    uhh...no.
i've had water SITTING in my headlights before, and the audi dealer says, "oh, that's normal... it'll go away"
    what a load of sh*t. that's not normal, that's a substandard product.

Hmm, isn't the clutch hydrolic and self adjusting? Unless the aftermarket one isn't I am not sure how much more feel you're going to get. It will probably just grab better and give you more grip under load which is usually why they tend to be a little less streetable.

Who did the work on your car? I'm in PHX and am looking to upgrade suspension and need to find a good shop.
    RE: Headlights
Warranty If your car is still under warranty take pics and head to the dealership. I was told by a service writer at Audi of Chandler he needs pics to send to Audi USA to get authorization to replace them.
No WarrantyYou live in PHX, give 20 min sitting outside they will be dried out in no time.

Ok...here is what I found out from Southbend. They do not have replacement clutches for our cars. You send them your disc and they resurface it with higher performance material.

Yes this is the process. They no longer can purchase stand alone parts for our cars apparently. Thus they ask you to buy new OEM clutch parts and send it in to them. They then take the stock material off the disc and replace it with there own material, depending on what your app is. They'll also resurface your flywheel for cheap if you send them the parts for an upgrade. I also sent them my pressure plate, I'm not sure if they modified anything on it or changed out the springs in the disc itself.

Regarding the questions of "how does it feel", it's really hard for me to make any direct comparison with stock as my car has been in the shop for over almost 6 weeks. To me it feels similar with a little more stiffness, but after 6 weeks it's pretty hard to make a comparison to stock.

iefb, tell the audi dealer that you got pulled over by the highway Patrol and was given a warning for unsafe headlights. It worked for me. If they don't bite, then take it one step further and go into a police station and ask them to write you a fix it ticket.

    So......

Tell us some good stuff about the clutch.

Have you launched on it yet, or are you still breaking it in.

If you have launched, what is the highest RPM and did it Grab? Or does it slip like my sloppy 75k mile clutch at 4k rpm?

Re: New Southbend Clutch + H&R_CO + Snub + Sways

No I haven't launched it yet, and most likely wont for awhile. I've only got about 150 miles on it so far. I'm waiting until at least 500 - 1000 miles before I'm mean to the car :)

I'll add a few pics tonight now that the car is lowered. My mechanic that put the coilovers in really slammed it.
