And the story of our 12hr day:
Ok, so yesterday Clint (AudiA4_20T) drove up to my house to do my BBK install and boy what a day it ended up to be. The fronts went on w/ no problems then it was off to the rear. We put the car up on jackstands and proceeded to take off the old and put in the new. We ended up breaking the caliper tool we rented from Autozone so, due to this being my only transportation, we ended up driving 1hr round trip to get another tool to try again (We had a suspicion their was something wrong with the first tool). When we returned we tried once again and this time they went on fine. At this point it was around 9:30pm and we were both tired so we decided to top off the brake fluid and I would just bleed the system the next day. During our test run we ended up having a leak in one of the rear lines which was ultimately fixed by using the old oem washers off the brake lines we just took off. So because it was like 10:30pm at this point and he was really supposed to have left by 3pm we said what the hell and ended up just bleeding the whole system and bed in the breaks after. We finally worked out all the kinks and took it out around 12:30am for the bed in process. We started off with our first 10x going from 60-10mph and holly sh*t these brakes rock. We were hitting 60mph right at the line going into an intersection and literally stopping right on the other side of it. It was also funny seeing people's reactions as we were starting and stopping. After the 2nd cycle we did a run from 90/95-10mph (Which was insane) and that was it. Here are some pics of them on the car....some of them kinda suck...sorry!!!
Also a pic of the ER test pipe that was installed about 1mo ago.
And here's a pic of a GTI we came across on our way back from Autozone. Looks like a wrx hood scoop.....ROFL!!!!!!!
Even though the day was long everything went awesome and I learned a ton when it comes to wrenching.
Wanted to really give an extra thanks to Clint (This guy knows his sh*t) and thanks for being patient with my always difficult car!!!!
Also wanted to thank Tommy@Rival from hookin me up with the breaks, and also 317ssayzarc and CoAvant for having their phones handy to give us their valuable input when when hit troubled spots.
Hope you guys enjoyed and Thanks Again!!!!
