Brake Q

I had 18 looks and 0 replys on the reg board so hope someone on here would know.
K well going to get some new brakes soon. Couple Q's i have is that i upgraded to the A4 3.0 size rotors in the front which is what? i cant find my sizes i saved somewhere. Also i have 2 front B5 S4 front calipers laying around and if i put thoes on will i have to go to the S4 rotor size? or can i put the 3.0 carrier on and put 3.0 rotors on? or well are the S4 rotors bigger then the 3.0? Any help would be awsome thanks.

B6 3.0 front rotors: 312mm x 25mm
B5 S4 front rotors: 321mm x 30mm

You can not use B5 S4 calipers with B6 3.0 rotors. You need B5 S4 rotors with those calipers.

I have B5 S4 front calipers and rotors on my car. I highly recommend you source B5 S4 rotors if you have working calipers. The stopping power is orders of magnitude over the OEM B6 (1.8 or 3.0). The B6 1.8 and 3.0 use the same caliper, just different sized rotors. The B5 S4 front brakes make the B6 A4 feel SO safe. Should have come with them from the factory.

For normal daily driving OEM non-drilled or slotted rotors will work fine. I have OEM S4 rotors with Mintex Red Box pads.

Hey thanks, Yea i got fed up and just looked it up at work today. Found out that the B5S4 rotors are bigger so im going to upgrade to that size rotor zimmerman makes some slotted for S4 from work so im getting them cheap and prob some mintex red box for pads. And use the S4 calipers since a couple people at work said that they stop a whole hell of a lot better then stock calipers.
