    Brake pedal is mushy

So, I finally got all 6 lines put in and had the brakes flushed and bled. Now, the pedal feels even more mushy than before. The car stops but the pedal goes to the bottom and you can pump it a little but it does not feel like it did before I had the brakes done. Any ideas? Could something else be broken or is this what I have to deal with using hawk pads and powerslot rotors? I used Amsoil DOT 4 brake fluid.

Umm, maybe bleed the brakes one more time? I got lines on mine and I could totally tell the difference after I did it. Brakes should feel about 10-15% firmer. If it still does it then maybe check the master cyl? Best info I could tell you.

Yeah, after this beel it is worse than the last. We are thinking about doing it one more time. I also brought up the master cyl but other than buying brakes, I know nothing! Do you think it could be something with the fluid or not an option? It was brand new fluid that aint cheap.

you have air in the ABS pump like i did, you have to bleed the brakes, activate the abs, bleed the brakes again, etc. it took me about 5 times to get it right, since its such a waste of fluid i flushed it out with wal mart dot 3, then when all the air was out i bled it one last time with dot 4.

if you have vag com you should be able to run the abs pump while you bleed the brakes, thats how the dealership does it, but they charge out the nose for that.

Just out of curiosity, how did you get your ABS pump to run?

I just fixed this today. We had the car on a lift, would put the car in drive, race it to about 80 then hit the brakes to activate the ABS and bleed away. Now, the pedal feels 120% better.
