APR software + Vast parallel MBC

I am going to attempt to install the mbc this weekend? I have heard that the MBC with the APR software doesnt work too well. I called prince at vast and he says he has not heard of anybody have any issues with the setup. I believe the guys at vast they have not steered me wrong thus far. Should i look out for anything? Should i even install it? Input would be great

it will be fine in parallel. Its when you run the mbc in standalone with apr software does it seem to hiccup.

Just make sure the "t'" fittings are nice and tight and you'll be set.

If its in parallel then you are just using it to control spikes.. you'll also notice that it doesnt have a bleed hole. Thats because you are using the bleed hose that goes from the N75 to the Spider hose.

Re: APR software + Vast parallel MBC

MarkP (OG on AW) and DAP@EPL have both tried APR with an MBC only. Apparently it works fine at WOT, but any part throttle boost will put the car in limp mode. Feel free to give it a try though... I'm just repeating what I heard from two people with far more experience than myself.

    MBC in parallel works fine.

Is there anyway of contacting one of them? I am not on audiworld. Also i am running it in parallel, what would be the best way of setting the mbc at number wise? What number should the boost hold at?

Re: APR software + Vast parallel MBC

An MBC in parallel would just be capping the boost. Only reason to run an MBC in parallel is if you're getting crazy boost spikes or if you want to run less boost.

If you want to increase the boost (higher than what you running now), then you will have to run an MBC only. However, with APR software you are going to be getting limp mode frequently.

Set it in parallel and then tune it via your boost gauge. Although, i never reached about 1.1 bar with my APR 93. I always ran around 1.0bar and tapered down.

No problems as far as I know.
I have a MBC set for standalone (WITH a bleed hole). It's sitting in my garage, let me know if you're interested.

Re: APR software + Vast parallel MBC

If you run a MBC in standalone on GAIC X do you need a TDC if you're not setting boost higher than the chip. I just figured the MBC could ramp up to 16-17psi faster and taper less up top. Again I know it's hard on the turbos. Whats the most sustained boost people see in higher rpm with k03's and a MBC. Even a couple more pounds of boost up top would make a difference as long as my intercooler is up to the challange.

Re: APR software + Vast parallel MBC

im apr stage 3 and i have my mbc in standalone, and i havent seen limp mode yet. (&yes my mbc does have the ambient pressure port) i just dont like the fact that i cant plug the electrical connector on the n75 in so that the cel doesnt come on. if i do it instantly goes into limp mode. [afaik 'limp mode' is initiated by the n75 valve]

I dont know about APR software but I run vast software with a standalone MBC no n75 valve and I spike at about 19 and taper down to about 15-17 lbs on ko3's. Been like this for almost a year and I am hard on my car no issues thus far.
