    Re: Big Turbo Setup

Short way? Search for my build thread. Minus the internals, then add everything up

    Turbo
    Downpipe
    Manifold
    Lines
    Software
    Injectors
    Fuel pump
    Intake setup

That is bare minimum but IMO pointless to do because you will never get the full potential out of it.

Yeah, youll really want to do ATLEAST rods on the internals and replace the piston rings, to drive that thing safely, or else 20psi on a 3071r = bye bye motor

yeah setting up the intake for the tapp tune is a pain... I wish standalone wasnt like 1500 bones... or there was a way to convert AEBs to run off of a map sensor, and wideband or something that didnt require a maf...

Derek will be one of a small group to run Bullseye (in his case 1 not 2 little ones like the other S4 bishes who got tired of being waked by 4bangers), now shhhhhhh.

Only way to do that is to replace the maf with a map sensor and custom tune it. Bad thing is that if you change anything on the car you have to retune since the map reading is based on pressure not flow.

If the unit is powerful enough you can utilize the lambda target feature to properly compensate for small changes in airflow.

On a ndbw car? The lambda from the stock 02 or are you talking about a feature using the map sensor?

I still don't think you could run a deviance variable on the 02 like that on a ndbw, the ecu is not capable of computing it unless it's ME-7. I agree you'd have to re-tune for changes. It comes down to ECU more than just adding the sensor.

Well by unit being powerful enough what I mean to say is if the EMS is powerful enough. For example, a good standalone like Motec (I am not sure if 034 has that feature), Lugtronic(???) etc or even ME7.5

The stock me3x setups obviously can't do that with their narrow band and lack of WB sensor.

This is how it should work:
The system is expecting the car to have an afr of 11.5 with certain criteria (e.g. WOT, Boost between 22.5 - 23.5, RPM = 6200, etc), but if the car is in fact reading 11.9 from the wide band the computer can make fuel adjustments on the fly to richen it back to 11.5 (You give the computer enough lee way to adjust the fueling maybe 30 % @ maximum).

Well it isn't an issue with a stand alone because the person can already make any changes to the programming that they want. Only down side of using the 02 sensor to help with adjusting the fueling is the fact that you are then depending on the 02 being 00% correct and as we all know 02 sensors wear out over time, this will cause the car to run leaner/richer then it would if it wasn't using the 02 sensor to hit a set AFR. Another down side would be the fact that by the time it reacts to a lean/rich spot it can throw off the spot after it that might have already been perfect.

    Re: Big Turbo Setup

Yeah, nothing is perfect, but thats why you specify how much weight to give the lambda target map... Eg. 20% -30%, incase the o2 sensor is not right, it can only make small changes, anything major and its another issue all together.

Does the 034 unit have that feature?
