Question Big Brake kit front and rear advice

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've got 18'' TSW Vortex rims and wondering what size rotors/kit I should go with. And what brakes do you guys recommend? I'm not looking to piecemeal anything together or buy used. I just want to order a complete kit for the front and rear and be done with it. Any suggestions?

The only company that makes a front and rear setup that does not delete the E-Brake is Stasis/Alcon.

355mm would be about as big as you can go with 18s. 365 if you pick up the B7 RS4 fronts. You can buy a e-brake kit with the Brembo rears but its around 1k just for that.

IIRC the Alcon 368mm with 4-pots fit behind 18" USP wheels.

^ you can stuff a lot of brake behind oem USP wheels, especially if you have spacers. i cannot comment on 365mm RS4s or 368mm Alcons though. But 345s fit with plenty of room to spare.

Re: Big Brake kit front and rear advice

You can determine the size that will fit your wheel buy printing the templates on the respective BBK websites and putting them on one of your wheels to see if you have the few millimeters you need to clear the kit you are interested in. Spoke design plays a big part in the clearance.

You may also be able to contact TSW to find out what BBK sizes and manufactures will fit behind your specific wheel.

You are entirely wrong, Brembo, Stoptech and AP Racing all make rear kits with parking brakes...

The parking brake is a seperate caliper from the main caliper...I have installed this setup on a couple of A4's and a S4.

Alcon makes a 368? News to me, I have Alcon 370mm 4 pots. It takes a 5mm spacer to fit them behind USP wheels.

I'm looking at the Alcons. Looks like about 2k for the front and 800 for the back. They don't say anthing on the sites about ebrakes though. (Whether they are compatible or not)

The rear uses the OEM caliper but STaSiS floating rotors.

Re: Big Brake kit front and rear advice

I have B7 RS4 365mm brakes and I run 12mm spacers on my 18" USP wheels. You would "need" 5mm spacers at a minimum to run B7 RS4's on USP's.

Yea, your right. I get mixed up when they say 14.5" rotor, which equals 368mm.
