    ETKA p/n request (hood latch)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I went to open my hood to check the oil level Sunday and my hood latch broke. The plastic lever under the dash. Sheared right in half. Damn POS plastic.

What is the part number for the hood latch lever?

    Thanks in advance,
    Doug

I'm guessing you need part 22

Re: ETKA p/n request (hood latch)

Yes, I believe that is it.

This is going to hurt. It looks like the entire assembly and not just the lever itself. We'll find out how much it costs. Know any good places online to find it? I have a feeling my local dealership will probably charge upwards of $100 or more.

EDIT: do you think #15 included the lever assembly?

Re: ETKA p/n request (hood latch)

Guys, the 8E2 part is not the one to get. 8E2 is the right-hand drive version for Europe.

Martini, When you use ETKA, is your default location set to Europe? You should check and make sure it's set to the US.

    Anyhow, the correct part number is: 8E1 823 533 B 01C

I show an MSRP of $17.75 for it and I've seen it as cheap as $11.72 from a place I check for prices.

Thanks Brett. I did look at the image but for some reason I was thinking RHD was what I needed. Guess its still early and I'm not thinking correctly.

When I plug in the 8E1 number I do get it (couldn't find 8E2) and its about $12. Sweet! Thanks!

Eh, there's supposed to be a way to generate a prices list based on your locale and then ingest it into ETKA but, I've never gotten it to work properly. Can't call for support either...

Anyhow, I just get the correct part number and then go to a few different websites that have part number lookups with pricing. Strangely enough, ECS often has lower prices than my wholesale dealership prices. Of course if it's a really oddball part (ie. hood release handle) places like ECS might not stock it at all.
