So im looking into possibly lowering my car, a friend suggested coilovers, but i dont really want to spend that much, i was thinking of going with springs...what do u guys think, will it change my handling i got on the quattrro if i just use springs...

Will it change your handling? Yes. But for a comfortable and adjustable ride, I'd give 3 thumbs up to the Stasis C/Os. Take a ride in a car with any coilovers for that fact and you won't want to go back to just lowering springs.

I think your best bet will be to just cut your existing springs with a sawzall

I think spring is enough if u don't track/race ur car a lot, but I perfer go springs + shocks... cheers =P

I've heard - and this can be wrong.. if you were to go with set of springs such as H&R.. you might want to upgrade your shocks as well - i.e. Billstein Sport. ( I'd contact Billstein directly to find out what you need ) I'd love to trust people but.. prefer someone who actually knows..

^ find someone who is running springs only, and has had their oem shocks go bad. I dare you

oem shocks will go bad over time, not within a month, but over time. Friend has it on his s4, sport shocks help...

Coils are the way to go if you care about comfort, but comfort is all subjective to the driver....Ride wasn't too bad on the s4 or cars with coils, so its a 50/50 decision. I would just save up for coils and you will have more options in height, comfort, etc.

I love my street sports. Those, combined with an RS4 Rear Sway Bar completely changed the handling of the car. It makes the car feel more stable in turns, especially at high speeds. I feel like I have more control of the car. It's especially evident when I've had to make a couple of emergency maneuvers on the highway. It's also evident when weaving through traffic at 90+ with ease....Not that I do that a lot.

If you searched, you would see that the Audizine community suggests coilovers as well...
Does American Motors of America do coilover installs or do they only build 1000hp motors?

With that being said, you should get coilovers on all 200+ of your cars!

If you want the best handling out there what you need to do is take out your springs completly, and your set. Your car will drop to the ground like a fat chick that just got off the treadmill and your handling will be amazing. Just dont make turns, stay on straight roads. Just my 2 cents
