engine improvements...whats best

i have an 04 1.8t automatic. what are the best upgrades for the engine that are affordable? what have you guys done to improve the cars performance?

thanks. relatively new to my audi looking for some good mods to make!

New air filter, I would say a K%N.
New chip, I would say and APR 93.
Maybe a new exhaust. Thats from Stasis.
All together I would say around 2200-2500 dollars.

do the chips make a dramatic difference? how much does the diverter valve help? do they really add that much power...

from stock its a dramatic difference and if you get chipped you will eventually need a new divereter valve to hold all the extra pressure after that you should get exhaust bigger injectors after that your talking big money

Sure it does! The stock DV are known to be weak, so an upgrade replacement is recommended.

I would read the link posted above, lots of great info... here is what I did in the last few months and I am very happy with the car's performance thus far.

Evoms Intake (like stated above sort of a waste but it sounds cool)
Forge 007 DV
AWE Cat back exhaust (Stasis doesn't make one that I know of for the B6)
AWE FMIC
Forge TIP
GIAC FX reflash with Siemens 380cc injectors
Stasis Street Sport Coilovers
Adam's Slotted and dimpled rotors and Hawk Ceramic Pads
Then some appearance mods...

any big injector flash/1+ flash will net you about 60hp gain (pm Manguyen for the injectors you need). you will need an upgraded DV but you wont gain any HP, exhaust and test pipe (lots of options depending on what you want in terms of power/sound) and FMIC are your best bets
