    Ebay Lights, Unfinished project (Pics)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well, I got my hands on a S4 bumper, sold my stock lights because of some defects, got ebay lights, attempted to paint lowers.

Problems: Body shop screwed me over and didn't paint my bumper so I had to try and get some paint on it the day before I had to leave for school. Lowers: SUCK - I've spent countless hours on them and they still look shitty, may shave the door studs. Also, because of school, I haven't had time to put mesh on the grill inserts on the S4 bumper. And headlights had to be modified. Also, had to go with 16" wheels because I desperately needed tires and needed to buy new ones before I had the resources for wheels.

Good things: I got a S4 Bumper!! The lights work and I did NOT install the halos. Wheels, I went with the borbet.

TO DO: Plenty. Lower the damn thing but after school is over. Fix moldings. Paint Bumper. Install fog lights and mesh on grill inserts.

YES I PLAN TO LOWER IT

Your thoughts? (I know, crappy cell phone pics)

I had those headlights in my first car. I used to like them.

The lowering is a great idea, and the grilles installed would make it look great.

Is it just me, or is there a major fitment issue with the headlights? You did not order prefacelift headlights for a facelift, did you? I like the design though. It is different, just would not do it personally. Like the wheels .

Actually, the fitment on the headlights is pretty good. almost no gap.
And honestly, why wouldn't YOU do it, SEERLAH? (No offense taken, just curious)

Re: Ebay Lights, Unfinished project (Pics)

I would just try and keep it OEM looking as possible. I really wanted the blacked out housing (non Halo/angel eyes) but it seems they only make them for the prefacelift. So, I went with some Valeo Ecode I found for cheap. I would have gone with the blacked out headlights (OEM style) over the Valeo Ecode's any day. My car is brilliant black.

And it just looked like there was a big gap there. Sorry if you feel I was trying to show disdain towards your taste. Not my intent.

It has nothing to do with the fact that they aren't name brand or the fact that they have angel eyes.

I just think the lights look bad.

haha fair enough. In my defense, the ones I had were problematic and I'm on a budget. Maybe I'll go back to stock later but for now, it'll do cause they work.

    Like the car in general.

Just don't like those headlamps, I'd even go as far as saying I prefer the OEM 2-piece glass ones to the halo aftermarkets.

That's why I didn't keep my oem lights - cause it was not worth it for me to put HIDs on them.

Honestly, I might go back to stock but like I said, I'm on a budget.

I still need a tranny, bumper paint job, new windshield, and to lower it. I've had a lot of problems with it but I still really like the car.

wait, so you picked those headlights over stock 1-piece projectors?? An HID kit is less than $100 bucks and you can clear corner them for free, which is a pretty ideal combo for cheap if you started with the 1-piecers

I like the headlights over the stockers, same ones on my car. Just got them last week after I had some condensation issues. Def'n the best light to go with on a budget. I'm also in school so I sympathise with you man. You really need grill inserts and it'll look nice.

In defense of the lights, damn they are way more bright with an h1 light than the stocket h3s.

lol once again, it simply wouldn't be worth putting HIDs on the lights I had. because the only time the lights would look good would be at night when the assembly wasn't visible, just the beam was.

The guy who previously owned the car drilled the halogen assembly to fit bigger bulbs on there. So I had to silicon the little metal piece back on and buy H7 again.

^ And for the fellow student, thanks man :)

So next question: Mesh over the inserts or S4 inserts?

Well if you wait till a big show like H20 this month you can usually get new grills for 35 - 50 a piece. At least I did last year for a friend before I had my Raudi.

Let me just also chime in and defend the lights. They aren't hideous and they look way the hell better than the stock two piece, clear cornered or not. They are way cheaper than any HID kit and help make a somewhat dated car shed a few years. No one here can deny that the stock lights look down right old.

I get compliments on my lights at cruise ins and from kids that just appreciate my car. Easily the best choice in lights for <150 dollars, hell, they even come with the bulbs.

Lights really do look good, seen them. the black trim is deceiving in the pictures, the lights look really good and clean.

The car will look great, as soon as you get the inserts, lower it, fix the sides, paint the front bumper again, get a new windshield....did i forget anything? o yea, everything you break in the process of fixing everything
