    HELP!! hood latch..

First of all let me admit I know what I did was stupid.

I had the grille off to clean it up and paint it and when I put it back on I forgot to pull the hood latch through the hole. So I can close the hood but I don't know how I'm going to open it up to fix this. Is there an emergency release somewhere or am I screwed or what?

    Re: HELP!! hood latch..

No emergency latch that I know of. Maybe get a butter knife and use it as leverage and get it through the hole (yes, a little forcing it will be necessary). You might fuber the hood latch (the rubber end piece) or even the grill, but at least you will be able to get things cleared up. If you do mess the latch up, you could maybe get one from A&P (this is a link) for cheap. If it is an RS4 grill, they are no longer cheap. But if it is OEM, I have one I can sell you for cheap. Or you might not mess anything up.

Pop the grille back out. Sounds like a bitch, but it can be done. Otherwise, find some needle nose pliers, screw drivers, whatever it takes. Just get it done.

I've been trying to get it back out but it doesn't seem like it will come out without breaking it. I'm about to do it anyway.

Thanks for the help guys. I was able to get the grille back out using a little elbow grease. It's still not perfect, but it will do for now.
