Test pipe people

Just wondering if anyone / anyone you know has got rolled for a test pipe in any of the ways its illegal / emissions. Also, has anyone done anything to camouflage it so you don’t see some big chrome tube when you look in your engine?

If I was worried about mine, I would wrap it in heat tape. But if you get tested, there's no way to pass emissions unless you put a cat back in there for the test.

Faux finish it in "OEM Rust" color There are no visual inspections in WA so it's not a problem here as long as you have the APR test pipe program to override the fault codes...

lol. cops don't really care about us because we're audis. im not saying go off and rev in front of a cop but as long as its just a simple drive most likely you won't get caught. i haven't been caught and i've had it for a good 4 months without anyone pulling me over for tint or loudness so ya.

Yes I worried about it, so I put back the cat. The ticket does not worth the 20whp. And you know how non-sense the cops are in So. Cal. nowaday.

I mean I know there are TONS of test pipe people but I have never heard of someone getting caught. Id assume as long as you kinda camo the test pipe so a cop doesn't see some shiny pipe you should be fine?

They do, but not a visiual inseption! They plug a reader in our VAG com place and just test it!

This is news to me. I never had to get it done on my Audis.

Nope. They just plug into the diagnostic port and if your car is clear of emissions related fault codes (hence the need for the APR test-pipe file) you're given a pass... The whole process takes about 5 minutes.

california highway law is so rediculous. i understand the enviornment issues with the cats but anyone who can tell me california does not have the strictest code for the road is dumb. biggest fines + dumbest tickets = california roadway law enforcement

California driving laws are a joke, its like all the laws for the other states get amplified here...

lol. dont worry about it. if u worry about getting caught u will get caught if u dont care u wont get caught. hahaha. my belief and its worked so far. and now i will probably get pulled over tomorrow now since i said that hahahha

an Audi A4 isn't a conspicuous car for a cop to profile...

considering about 75% of them are mom's grocery cars or something of that sort...

its probably also good to keep your car looking normal too... so to fly under the radar. If a cop has no reason to notice you, he has no reason to pull you over..

I used to own a 2005 WRX STi.. with catless dp and full exhaust.. THAT + the stock wing is EXACTLY what cops are looking for to pull over.. a midsize luxury sedan, not so much. :D

ya i deffinetaly understand that part of it. im not worried about a car saying oh **** an a4 those are trouble making cars. but if i were to get pulled over for something else (i am a kid driving a nicer car with a few stickers), thats when i would be scared for a cop saying hey lets pop the hood.

i dont know sorry the **** cali tells cops to enforce just pisses me off. anyways im picking up a test pipe from vmr if i can this week. stage II here i come
