Need info about a Sachs clutvh that I picked up

Ok so I got a really good deal on a Sachs clutch, it is used, and I was wondering if anyone can give me some additional info about this clutch. I have searched everywhere and I can't seem to find this exact clutch that I have.

It says "TYPM228" on the outside of the clutch. Can anyone tell me how much HP it's rated for? Longevity? and any other info you know about it...

I do work around the South East on your 1.8t or 2.7t, PM for more info

    Part numbers anywhere?

I thought sachs had a blue PP, I know southbend has a red PP... but I can read "SACHS" on the stamp...

It could be Southbend. FYI Southbend uses Sachs parts for their Audi clutch kits.

That looks to be a South Bend OFE setup. Its either a stage 3 or stage 4. Just looks like the person you bought it from removed the South bend stickers.

A "sach" performance would be just plain silver, Spec is blue and South bend is red. If it was a Sach clutch it would have a unsprung disk and organic material on both sides.

    Southbend OFE

Part numbers for what? The part numbers on the pressure plate is just a standard Sach part # for an Audi A4. That pressure plate has been modified to have more clamping pressure, so it is no longer what it was when Sach made it.

If you want to read more about Southbend clutch kits here you go Just click on the "product page" link on their site.

Would this clutch be good for a full gt2871r setup?

stage 3 holding cap is 300FT/lb torque and stage 4 is 450ft/lb...

a gt28RS puts out ~300ft/lb tq.. so a 2871R would be right on the ragged edge, and you might even get slippage if it's a stage 3.

For normal day to day driving, most likely. You should try to find out who they bought the clutch from and what stage it is.

I bought it from an Audi junkyard, and it was just laying in a box. It was also attached to a Unorthodox Racing 9lb Flywheel.

If it was being used with a 9 lbs flywheel my guess would be that it is a SB stage 4. Lighter weight flywheels need a clutch with more clamping pressure.

how would this clutch with the 9lb UR lwfw be in a daily driver? Details about drivability would be great.

Well the clutch would be fine. The 9lbs flywheel takes some getting used too, you will find out that you need to get the rpms up a little more before letting the clutch out.
