*** Downpipes for SPA manifold - preorder ***

Ok the time has come,
How many of you who have purchased an SPA manifold from myself (or ebay etc) are looking to purchase a downpipe for either Tial 38mm WG or Tial 44mm WG?

Ideally I would like to get an order of at least 5 going.

For clarification, what flanges will be on the downpipe?

V-Band, 5 bolt, 4 bolt, ??

That is where it is going to get tricky, because there are different turbo setup and each turbo setup can come with a different discharge outlet. This means the down pipe will have to be slightly different for each one.

Well it will be ASSuMEd that everyone is running a Garrett GT V-band turbine housing.That will keep things simple.
If you are running a 4-Bolt housing then I also have a 4-bolt to V-band adapter.

Wouldn't that mean the down pipe will be pushed further toward the fire wall when using a 4bolt to Vband adapter compared to a GT Vband discharge? There are also companies that do their own Vband on the exhaust housing which put the vband closer to the housing then the standard Garrett Vband housing.

Also the 4bolt comes in 2 versions, standard and GT.

The GT to V-Band adapter isn't more than 2" long, I'm sure there's plenty of clearance.

Open dump is the best way to go anyway, because the welds for the WG tube back into the down pipe always cracks anyway.

On that topic, since you have experience w/ this manifold, isn't your wastegate "upside down"? Does the clearance suck for adjustment or fitment?
I never thought to look when I saw it at Waterfest.

v-band without wastegate reroute would be ideal, also if you made a dump tube the spa manifold that would be sweet.

Yes the WG is upside down. Clearance wasn't an issue from my experience

EGT doesn't belong in the DP.

How would it sound like ass? The wg doesn't even open till the turbo is making full boost and really is only open while running low boost. Not going to even hear it unless the person is running a very corked exhaust. If you think a open dump WG sounds like ass you must think open exhaust sounds like ass too.

this is another subject I know too little about. Drill and tap into the manifold/collector then?

I had it that way before and then it broke off. Doesn't sound any different now vs back into the DP.

Sounds like you need to get a car that runs or drive more often.

If I wanted an open dump turbo I would run a GT42R on the 1.8T...

These are going to be 034 manufactured products and not a "special order" thing, correct? Meaning that if one was to go to your online catalog, they would be order the downpipe specified for the SPA manifold (maybe it will be listed on the same page with option on bottom). I was asking this as I want to eventually get that manifold and I will def be needing your downpipe for it. And was wondering if you guys will have this on your catalog or would one need to special order it (from 034 of course). Thanks!

screw downpipes. Buy a V-band flange and a 90* bend, weld together, cut a hole in the hood and turn it upwards

Yah this will be a great idea if you can package a turbo, manifold and downpipe together and make it your own kit. There must be some people doing it already.

Eurodyne software more than likely as Chris has LOADS of experience tuning ME5/7 A4's.
