do for the last couple of days i was getting an oil smell coming from under the hood, so i knew for sure that i must have a leak somewhere, but no oil spots on the floor or anything like that.....so after looking around for a while i see that the T shapped breather hose at the back of the valve cover was split open....now my question is, i just replaced that hose 2 weeks ago, how the hell did it split open after 2 weeks???

Did it start right after installation of afterwards? A defective hose perhaps?

no i installed it two weeks ago, because i had a vac leak, so when i was looking for the leak i found this hose was very soft, so i decided to change it along with the other hose that was causing the vac leak, but this oil smell only started about 2-3 days ago

I had the same problem, i am willing to bet it is the crankcase breather hose. that's what was causing the smell on mine. it is located directly underneath the intake manifold. It's much easier if you take the intake manifold off and check it out.
I do work around the South East on your 1.8t or 2.7t, PM for more info
