Well not much more, but hey I don't know any details about your car. If you bought an Audi as an investment you made a bad move, the value on these cars did and will continue to drop.

That is really strange, because if you check the prices of 04 (B6) S4s, they are around 24-29k depending on condition, mileage and private sale/dealer.

The 05.5's have the 50/50 diffs instead of the fun 40/60 diffs, correct?

I didnt think the market was THAT bad for S4's...i'm callin bull sh**.

i guess next time just pick up a 993 Turbo or a slightly used Ferrari if you want the car to hold its value. other than that, expect a car to hit 50% depreciation around 3 years.

Ive gone and seen the red one in person. That dealer is an internet dealers that flips cars quickly. Its a nice car but it said "sale pending" for that car numerous times and the buyers didnt fall through with it. Its a car i would probably stay away from. Plus theres a body shop connected with the dealer. It may mean nothing but all of their cars come from auction.

Said perfectly.. i luv my car. luv it more than any ive ever had.. im just saying i have a pretty hefty car payment to look forward to every month and then know that when i sell whenever that maybe im gonna have to come out of pocket.. When i had my 04 m3 i was the second owner bought it with 2000 miles drove it for a year.. paid 45000 and sold it for 42900 thats good resale.. i should of just bought another m.. I mean yes the audi in my book is way nicer its like a fast comfortable tank. i luv it.. but man just didnt think it would depricaite so much..

I would set my car on fire and push it off a cliff before I would sell it for that kind of money. The key to Audi at this point in time is "Don't sell your car". This is coming from a guy who owned new Audis since 1988. Audi owners keep driving down the market value by selling their cars for lower and ridiculously lower prices.

Well, California isn't really indicative of the rest of the country. S4s sell for more back east than they do in the People's Republic.

Audi's typically depreciate to 40-50% of their MSRP after only 3 years. Plus, the S4 is a gas guzzler in a time of record high gas prices. Also, a lot of people expect euro performance cars to be extremely high maintenance, so that makes them even harder to sell to the average buyer.

the market is down for a lot of cars right now, plus the s4 has had two body updates since then driving down the value even more and like stated above, its a gas guzzler in a time of high prices......

s4 prices are the reason im looking for a 04/05 s4! $20k? cant go wrong!

and KBB prices arent always indicitive of the what the market is actually doing.. price a supra or third gen rx-7 on kbb then try to find one for that price.. good luck

hell, look at SUV prices! they paid $50k a few years ago and cant get half that now either.... your house was worth $200 a few years ago but now could be down as much as 30% depending where you live..

My brother just turned in his A8 at the end of a three year lease and wanted another one. His rate was going to jump about $400 per month. The residual has dropped so drastically and that is reflected in the monthly lease payment. The sales guy said that the new A8s were loosing 62% off sticker in the first three years.

He ended up getting a new S6...which cost just as much.
