(exhaust set up) anyone try this?

A buddy of mine who owns a bmw 328 just got his exhaust system done recently and has been convincing me to do it as well.

basically: mangaflow resonator and strait pipes to the end with custom tips. It cost him like 200 (homie hook up price) and it sounds real nice. for me since i have a 3.0 i dont think i can have a single magnaflow resonator since we have dual exhausts, and two wont fit... i talked to the guys at the shop... they said i can:

    1) cut off my muffles and wield pipes to the ends and run no mufflers
    2) just change out mufflers for magna flow ones ( or ones of my choice)
    3) strait pipes all the way through

now i know 2 and 3 have obviously been done.. but im wondering about option 1. That is the cheapest option and from what my friends tell me... it would make my car sound real real nice, a couple of them have done it to their beemers and it does sound nice. anyone have any experience with this set up? pros and cons? thanks

The 1 resonator goes before it splits into a y-pipe so I think you can do only 1. I would do none though.

    1. Running no mufflers is going to be loud and look odd...
    2. This is your best option since and is proven to sound nice, you could remove the resonators for some more volume...
    3. Your car will sound like a mack truck with striaght pipes...

I have a friend who did the magnaflows on his 3.0 and they sound nice, removing the resonators will make it meaner and louder but could be in a good way.. you could have the muffler shop do the mufflers first see how you like it then go from there...
