    Hate to say it, I was on the fence between the A5 & 335Xi coupe. Can't deny the A5 is drop dead gorgeous & a comfy ride plus the BMW dealer was closed today - easy decision!

    Think I might have screwed up - is the Nav package required for the radio display/interface? MMI I think? I'll stop back in to the dealer & double check after the holiday. I was told expect to see it end of Feb/early March, thats fine with me. Get winter out of the way.

    This is where I'm a bit confused too. It's hard to tell just what you get with the B&O option, a couple dozen speakers, 505 watts, and maybe a couple of magic rocks? I was told it does not include the Ipod interface, you must buy the separate interface for $290 or the Nav package which does include the interface.
    As for the color, I just like the Silver/Black look. Think it's pretty classy.

    Congrats! You will enjoy the A5. It is a much better car than the BMW.

    Thanks guys. Yeah, I think I made the right choice. Tiesto, I think that pic is of the '08 interior, has the start/stop button on the console. The '09 A4 I drove looks just like that except for the start/stop. Wish I could get a tach that looks like that though. I'd drag my feet for another year if I was sure I could get the TDI in 2010.

    Yup, I did screw up... read this article, made a call to my dealer & added the Nav package.

    For 2009, the MMI interface is a standalone option and it includes the iPod interface. That's what I was told anyway. My A5 is coming in a month and I don't know if it's going to have the wood or aluminum inlays. I asked for both at one point and not sure where we left off at.

    I do not believe the MMI is a separate option. It certainly wasn't when I ordered mine a couple months ago. It was still the "technology" package.

    I don't think the MMI is in the tech package. It comes when you order the "nav" system. i just checked the website and the only items that come with the tech package are:

    Technology package

    * Audi rear parking system with rear view camera
    * Adaptive headlights
    * Advanced key
    * Audi side assist

    Audi navigation system plus with six disc CD changer*

    * 7" full color, map-based navigation screen
    * Six disc in-dash CD changer
    * AM/FM radio with Sirius satellite radio and channel preset capabilities
    * Radio Data System (RDS) displays radio station call letters and information
    * Graduated Audio Level Adjustment (GALA) varies volume based on vehicle speed
    * Five language settings and voice guidance
    * One disc DVD to cover all US and Canada including Hawaii
    * Audi Music Interface with full iPod control

    This mentions the 7" screen. Someone correct me if i am wrong but the non MMI comes with a 6.5" screen?

    So the AMI is different I guess?
    A5 / S5

    MSRP
    A5 3.2 quattro Manual $40,300
    S5 quattro Manual $50,900
    A5 3.2 quattro Tiptronic $41,600
    S5 quattro Tiptronic $52,200

    Standard Equipment Changes

    - Auxiliary input - standard on all A5/S5. (Ordering Audi Music Interface deletes this.)
    - Shift Paddles - no longer standard on 3.2. Now available in S Line package

    Option Program Changes
    - PTA Technology Package for A5/S5 now includes Audi side assist
    - S Line Package now contains Leather/Alcantara seat fabric with embossed S Line logo and silver stitching. (The alcantara is perforated.)
    - Navigation Package now includes Voice Control System
    - Audi Music Interface is now available as stand-alone option on A5 and S5.
    - Adaptive cruise control is now available for A5 and S5.
    - New Audi drive select Package available for A5 and S5 (includes Audi Drive Select system, adaptive suspension dampers, and dynamic steering system)
    - Aluminum hologram decorative inlays now available as no-cost option for A5. (Replaces standard wood decorative inlays.)
    But if I understand the OP correctly, and he's mostly concerned with the audio functions, the AMI is a standalone option and it includes the iPod interface and full control over the iPod.

    True, my concern was having available all the features of the B&O sound system upgrade. To access the advanced features of this system requires the MMI and the only way to obtain the MMI is with the NAV package... or so I'm told. Well, time is on my side, for a bit. I hope to see an A5 with the same options I've ordered relatively soon so I can answer my questions 'up close and personal'. The only option I don't have is the technology package. And now I'm wondering...

    You are correct. I misspoke. Seeing as I have one on order I am ashamed of my mis-speaking.

    I went without the tech package too. If the adaptive cruise was in it i prob would have gotten it though. I actually didn't want the adaptive headlights. I live in a a city where there are these things called streetlights for night driving and i felt it was just one more thing to stop working/break.

    The key thing was really cool, but part of me also really liked putting the key in the dash, it was fun (god i am such a loser).

    Man, my second favorite part is not having to put the key in the dash... or anywhere for that matter!

    You will be very happy with your purchase. I waited 5 months for mine. The Monza silver is beautiful. It looks light blue sometimes, and other times looks silver, depending on the light outside.

    So I'm hearing rumblings that the US 2009 A5's don't have folding mirrors even though it's still itemized within the Premium Package. Does anybody here have a definitive ruling on that? It was kind of the only thing I really cared about in the Premium Package. And about that Premium Package, I had to get it because I wanted the Tech Package, the same reason I had to get Nav. In the end, don't mind much, but it seems kind of lame how that works.

    BMW xi's are garbage. Good choice - I have an audi A6 and a bmw 335xi. 335 is the lady's as it is too small for my taste. Only reaso to take an A5 over a 335xi is for the styling. 335xi is a better car hands down than A5. S5 might be a different story!!!!

    Congrats on the new ride man! Monza Silver is a sweet looking color! It's gotta be a b*tch to match though, so I hope no one dents the new ride!

    The mirrors do fold, however they are not POWER folding mirriors.... A small detail Audi failed to mention to us prior to them showing up for delivery. made us salespeople look like assholes....

    Yeah. I just read that online. What is that all about? Why did the 2008s do it and not the 2009s? That is one of my favorite features!

    Barristo, comfort is a big factor in my decision, my body now demands it. Funny, I've never sat in an A5, S5's yes, and I'm assuming the A5 with the S-Line pkg will be similar.
    What! No remote folding mirrors! What a deal breaker... I have them now and the only time used is at the car wash a couple times a year.
