So who else is evacuating with me?

My wife and daughter are leaving tonight for Austin from the Beaumont/Port Arthur area where we live because we aren't but a stones throw away from the gulf. Unfortunately I have to stay behind and help shut down the refinery I work at

What really sucks is I've been in my new house not even 2 months and we have a major hurricane barreling down on us, and I just know it's going to tear the mofo down!

Gustav is gonna be bad, I'm in Melbourne so we're missing him but we'll have to see what Hanna holds. We just recovered from Fay :-/

Im getting hit by the outer bands right now in the Florida Keys. It will be calm like a normal night one minute then the next all hell breaks loose with ripping rain and gusty winds.

Luckily that projected path is most likely what it's going to do!

We got here in NW Houston about 11 this morning, they cut us loose after we had a bunch of volunteers who wanted to stay. It took us just over 4 hours to get here from where we live which is only 85 miles to the east, and I guess considering the route we had to take wasn't all that bad. With everybody leaving waaaay before the official evacuations, by the time we left when we were actually supposed to, the roads weren't all that bad.

The best part about all of this is that I still get paid for the days I would normally be at work while I'm evacuated, and they reimburse all my expenses
