What Sensor is that?

There's a sensor leaking air when I hook the car up to the smoke machine...

Located on the back of the passenger side head. Seems like it's pissing oil too, as the back of the block there is pretty grimy. I was going to install a new one, but if it requires pulling the motor, i might need some GT25s also

pics... a sensor leaking oil? maybe a cam seal? not a sensor, but they are on hte back of the head and tend to leak oil

i think he might be talking about the cam tensoiner. Its right behind the passenger head and it has a sensor that attaches to it. there's a half moon and tensioner gasket you need to replace there. Pull the valve cover off and you can get to it. Your going to need a special tool to compress the tensioner. take it to the dealer if you have the cash. No need to pull the motor.

she leaked a bit of oil off that, and i can't figure out what would cause it to leak smoke when it's on the smoke machine. need a new intake gasket or something ?

Sweet.. I was right. You need this http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...l=&engine=2.7T Its called the cam tensioner gasket. Get two of them.

then get this http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...l=&engine=2.7T Its called a gasket under Maintenance engine. get two of them as well. replace both sides and you should be good to go. your going to need a special tool so the you can compress the tensioner. Do a search and you'll find it, i coulnt

don't even need that tool unless your removing the chains, which you also don't need to do, i just replaced those seals on both sides without it.

Its not the actual sensor thats leaking just so you know. Its the gasket thats seperating it from the head. the sensor is fine. Run vagcom, if you get no codes for your timing chain then the sensor is fine.
