It would probably be cheaper to just move But seriously...I was watching "Jacked" last night and they said a car is stolen every 37 seconds in Jersey. What are your insurance rates like?

GPS tracking to see where your car went, since there it seems like every NJ s4 is stolen no matter how secure.

    Re: anti theft ideas

hell yeah, ive wanted this car for soo long, i live in the hood, i figured fuck it, cant compromise what you want for these fools out here. Im more worried bout when i go out somewhere and its gone than it gettin taken from my house. I know the anxiety thing, my previous car was an 2003 maxima 6spd titanium, which is almost as bad as the S4 in theft rates. Got lucky and had it for 2yrs wit no problems. Im gettin an alarm this week, also if i just get an APR security chip wit no performance maps, can i re-chip it later for an 93 octane map, or do i need a new ECU? thanks for the help

you should just leave the doors unlocked all the time and get lojack, seriously.

that way when they recover it after a couple hours, you wont have to buy new door locks

starter kill and fuel pump cutout switches..... had my truck stolen it now has locking hood pins so that the distrubuter wire can be pulled along with the afore mentioned mods, i bought a big ass eye bolt at home depot and rotorhammed it into the street and one in the driveway, so it is now chained to the ground :)

    Re: anti theft ideas

If everybody starts posting what to do, it's going to be easer for a thief to look for a lojack in the car or for pulled fuses, kill switches ect.

    Re: anti theft ideas

you obviously know nothing about car thieves. a thieve is NOT going to look through your fuse panel and check which ones are there, blown, and diagnose a no start issue. they will just give up and make a run for it.

    Re: anti theft ideas

no, they will 99.9% not diagnose a no start issue, they will give up. its not a matter of what to look for. its a matter of the fact that time is an issue and they are out there cranking it for 5 minutes trying to see why it wont turn over. they arent going to check the fuses, check for spark and all that nonsense. unless they are really desperate.

    Re: anti theft ideas

put a kill switch in the car it will help, also if they can't get it running in a matter of 1 min or less they give up unless it is a flat bed or tow truck they you are screwed any how, good luck. the TRI state sucks for car theift but NJ seems to be the capital of it,

hire a really really awkward kid to sit in your passenger seat at all times. that way when the car is stolen things will be soooo weird that the robbers will just give up.

    Re: anti theft ideas

You know sometimes it’s not always theft, I would worry about HATERS!!! Things like broken glass, keys being run along the side of the car, things of that nature….
That’s why I pay for a parking lot with 24hr personal & camera surveillance.
You have to pay to play, that’s what I think.
