WTF?! This happened to any1 before?

Ok so during continuous rain storms the past week, water had somehow got into my headlight and my xenon bulb went out. I assumed it had gotten wet and exploded. Anyway, so I ordered bulbs (online, screw the dealer) 2 days ago, supposed to get them tomorrow.

So I'm driving home from work, low on gas. The gas light was on so I assumed it was just trumping the "Right Dipped Headlight" warning and would come on after I filled up. Never did.

Got out to find that my xenon was now working and had somehow fixed itself? Is there some type of safeguard on our cars for the bulbs or something or did I just get lucky?

Sounds like you had some condensation/water get into the headlights and short them out then they dried out. Maybe?

Don't have HID's so I haven't had this happen to me but sounds logical.

well i figured it had just blown it because I know that even the oil from your skin can cause those bulbs to completely quit working.

From what I know, Xenons are very strong, reliable, and can hardly burn out. Your spare might last for ever, so you might as well sell it as its brand new. Keep it in original packaging. Am thinking you had an electrical problem more than anything else, but am guessing 100%, so take my words with a grain of salt.

I would keep your spare for a week and see if your Xenons will start acting up or something. If possible, let your car out for a while under the sun.

I would check and possibly replace the I ring on the main harness for your headlight

this used to happen to me when I had my OEM HID set. One day it would be dipped headlight and another it would work like new
