Can someone remind me, how long is the free maintenance and warranty period of 2006 Audis?

    Re: 2006 maintenance/warranty period?

Should be 4 year / 50K miles. No "wear and tear" items are covered (brakes, tires, etc...)

Look in your maintenance book that came with the car. It should have the actual purchase date (which is when your 4 years started)

It's not worth it in my opinion. As long as you take your car in for all of the regular services, and have the oil changes done on time you shouldn't have any major problems. Take the $2K you'd spend on an extended warranty and put it in a savings in case something major breaks, and if not, you have $2K in your account whenever you sell your car.

    just my:

so it's a myth what they say about german cars breaking down as soon as the warranty period is over?

    Re: 2006 maintenance/warranty period?

An extended warranty covering major parts is something good to have, my 06 A4 just had the fan control module go out, and not under warranty. Anything can happen. The fan control module however is a common part that seems to fail with VAG cars.
