    Siezed rear rotor...maybe?

    I notice recently alot of slack in my e brake lever before it actually engages(2" maybe).

    Im pretty sure one of my rear calipers is partly siezed, any particular way to go about breaking this ****** free before I tear apart my rotors.

    I would check the brake pads first. Second thing would be looking at the brake caliper bracket and look if the pins sized up. Each brake caliper has a cable for the ebrake and maybe one broke. I would also think that there is a way to adjust it probably behind the ebrake like many other cars but i never messed with the A4's

    The only way to verify is to remove the rear calipers. Take out the slide pins and clean them until they shine, then use a good amount of silicone brake grease when putting them back in place.
    The claiper pistons will require a special tool to turn them as they are being forced back. Using a pair of channel locks will destroy the piston.
    Remember to check both rear brakes, not just the suspect one.
