Retrieving Radio Code

Ok, so my battery died the other day from the car sitting and now I need a radio code. Apparently the only way to get the code is for Audi to rape me for $100 by scanning the car and submitting the code they get online with Audi and then they can receive the audio code. Can you retrieve code with VAG-COM or is there any other way??

Its in the owners manual, but I'm guessing you know that and dont have it.

Hopefully there is an audi tech on this forum or one of the other audi forums that will look itup for you and give you the code.

I had bought a radio from someone and I had a friend who was able to look up the number in a book from audi.

But you will need to supply the number on the back of the radio to retrieve the code.

I dont think that shows up in vag- but honestly I have no idea if that shows up or not in vag.

Yeah, VAG-COM says no. A couple reliable sources said the only way was to scan, and that I can't just pull out the radio. Oh and the previous owners had lost the manuals.

You need the AUZ number off the radio and your VIN and the dealer will run it for you. Bring your registration too. The radio has to be pulled to get the AUZ number. Some say it's in the spare tire well..mine isn't.

pretty sure there is a way to get the code with the vag com if it was unlocked, but wont help in your case.

Yeah, we checked the wheel well and no luck. I tried to do it that way with me getting the # off the radio, but they said they can't do it that way. Probably bullshit, but now it's over there to get $99 radio code.

But the car is @ the DEALER now . At least I will have the radio code for next time the battery dies.

Oh you don't even know....so after my I got my car yesterday they were nice enough to only charge me half as much, however now my center gauge cluster (the big digital one) doesn't work.

WTF?? What could have they done to the center cluster when they hooked up there diag tool up to my car. It works up until it says the car is OK, then it goes completely blank, turns off I should say .

I have no idea what it looks like, but it's the only thing there, can't miss it. Mines been off since I bought the car because the pixels are pretty much all dead.

ok look at the stick that turns on the windsheild washer fluid, slide your hand on the botom of it untill u feel a button on the very end of the bottom (not the side or top) and push it

^^I am idiot, that button was flush and it was at night when I was pissed off and taking it out on the dealer. to both of you and I feel retarded.
