The chrome trim that goes around my windows on my a4 b6 has water type stains on it. ive tried scrubbing. Ive tried some semichrome polish, and still no difference. is this a common thing on the a4s with chrome? any ideas on what to use to get rid of it?

mine is similar, there are white spots and looks like where the glass chalk from the dealer was washed and just left there for a while. Ive tried several things to get it off with no avail also.

In the owner's manual there is a very small one line blurb that says to use a Ph Balanced wheel cleaner.

I bought this and it works. http://www.blackmagicshine.com/produ...-wheel-cleaner It can be easily found at your local parts shop and it's not some crazy expensive stuff.

You will want to use it every time you wash or quick detail the car as the spots do return.

    Re: stained chrome trim?

I have the same type of spots, but just on the driver's side. The car was a CPO so I believe it to be related to salting the roads up north. I've tried about 5 different cleaners/polishes/etc and nothing has even been close to working.

I'm not sure the water cleaner will remove these stains. I've been told those won't come out.
