If I'm going to run a europlate, should i have the filler plate or no?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
As stated... I'm going to have a europlate on the front... im not sure if i should go with the "bracket" from them OR just adhere it to the bumper somehow... im thinking it may look better without the mount...

any suggestions, also looking back at an old thread of AMCs car when he was mocking a europlate on, he didn't have the filler plate in, and it kinda looks good since its a flatter surface than the rounded filler plate... Any suggestions ??

    Thanks!

I Bought Mines With The Bracket If Your Thinking Of Not Getting One Be Sure To Have A Drill Handy, The Europlates Come W/o Holes.

I ran mine with a bracket. This is how it looks. Not a great picture but this is how most other people will see it anyway.

EDIT: This is a better one.

no offense guys but the brackets look hideous. use 3m tape (no holes needed lol) and remove your filler plate. heres mine before i ran it on the trunk.

mines screwed to the filler plate:

and i have a smooth filler plate as well, and use that alot more often.

if you run one without the filler plate,i found that theres a gap on each side showing the holes for the filler plate and looks gross.

hasn't anyone been to Europe? the license plate screws directly into the bumpers, its even designed that way so you don't need a bracket.

if your trying to go for some European look with the plate, it makes no sense to use a bracket that nobody in Europe uses in the first place.

If you have a filler plate. JB weld some super strong magnets onto the back of the filler plate, and some magnets on the back of the Euro plate.

Re: If I'm going to run a europlate, should i have the filler plate or no?

    The magnet idea's cool.

But, if mounted to the filler plate, it means the licence plate won't fit flush to the slightly curved surface.

I'd just 3M the Europlate directly to the bumper, without the filler plate.
Mine's just 3M'd on, didn't drill any holes.

I'd have thought an Europlate would be the full width, and cover any holes left by the filler plate.

If not, then get the holes filled in, and the bumper painted.

no i would have thought the same also but not it showes the holes from the sides of the filler plates, and its too much work to fill them in and i dont want to get rid of my filler plate just want to run it differently sometimes
