    Stratmosphere Customer Service

During last winter I installed a set of Vmaxx c/o's. I set them pretty low(25 at the arch all around) which, living where I live, was way too low. When I tried to raise them up, the collars were seized on the shock bodies. No doubt due to the ridiculous amount of salt they put on the roads in the winter. I contacted Stratmosphere to see what they thought and Rich suggested I take it to them to have a look. Although only a 3 hour drive, I just couldn't find the time to go. I talked to him about it and he said that he would be happy to do a warranty exchange, just mail mine back and they would send me a new set. They took a deposit and sent a set to me so I could just swap them out and not have my car down. The new ones are on, the old ones sent back and my account credited for the deposit amount. I would rather to not have had any problem at all, but that considered, my dealings with Stratmosphere could not have gone better. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again.

    Re: Stratmosphere Customer Service

It is always great to hear about credible customer service. But for future referances, I suggest you purchase this. I could have sworn I seen it being sold on Purems, but could not find it. There are also other brand names that would carry this product.

    Re: Stratmosphere Customer Service

That's cool, but what about next year after you drive another winter on these new ones? I am surprised they replaced them since it was your road conditions that killed them... not a fault of the metal the co's are made with.

In the parts of Canada where we have actual winters (excluding west coast and some of the east), co's are a no-zone for all year rides. No amount of prep/cleaning fixes the issue.. ok, I am exaggerating, if you are an absolute nutter, you can do the spray, plus some sleeves... but stuff gets in there.

    Goodluck.

    Re: Stratmosphere Customer Service

The reason they replaced them is that they have lots of sets of them in places where the conditions are harsh and have never had an issue with them. Maybe the anodize on the collars wasn't up to spec or the zinc on the shock itself wasn't thick enough. Who knows. But, credit to them for taking care of an unusual problem quickly and efficiently.

    Re: Stratmosphere Customer Service

Interesting! Good to hear of great customer service.. no coilover I have heard of resists what we have... perhaps regional conditions are related also. We don't have the WORST winter in the world.. but it's harsh enough.
