need help with stg3 asp chip soldering..asap

I think my neighbor messed up my ecu.. 00 s4, I took my old GIAC ecu out, and was gonna try to have him solder it but it turned out that the car won't start.. I even tried switching the chip from the pins.. I think he might of soldered the legs the wrong way. any help will be greatly appreciated..

This happened to my Volvo. The chip was soldered the wrong way and not even a software update from Volvo worked. The solution......? Believe it or not, removing both battery cables, touching them together and reinstalling the cables to the battery. It worked.

Wha? I'm hoping that you can clarify the steps involved before someone blows up a battery and gets covered in battery acid!

???? How do you get battery acid on yourself by removing the cables from the battery and tapping them together away from the battery itself? Read what I said again.
