    2005.5 S4 question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I'm looking at 2005.5 S4 CPO.

33k miles for $31k Good condition, loaded minus nav. Good deal?

Also - the car has what appears to be an electrical wire covered in blue/green tape hanging slightly below the bumper, right above the right side exhaust. Anyone know what this is? Clean carfax but that type of thing makes me think rear-end accident.

    Thanks

    Re: 2005.5 S4 question

Well, I can tell you I paid $36k for my 05.5 Tip CPO back in Feb. It had 22k miles, RNS-E, CF trim, retractable rear shade, pretty much loaded (except for heated seats and Bose).

Not sure what the wire is below your bumper. You should probably take a closer look or question them about it.

I dont want to ruin your high hopes or anything, cause i know how exciting finding the "perfect car" is, so i'm just trying to share my experience. a month ago i purchased my FULLY loaded (every single option beside a moonroof) 6MT S4 for 27k after haggling (29 asking price). it was a 3 year lease return, so it still has a factory warranty, and came with just 27k miles on it. your deal doesnt sound bad. i'm just trying to provide some perspective.

Well, his price is pretty close to what yours was originally asking except for not having nav. Don't forget the one's he's looking at is CPO which adds about $2-3k on the price (and an extra 2 years/50k of warranty).

    Hmm, no moonroof?
    Is this a rarity?

NOT having a moonroof was an option. (You had to order the delete)

was the owner into modding and such? maybe a left over wire from an underbody neon kit? ... usually something you would see on a civic... but thats what comes to mind when i think a wire that far back!

Or does the car have the backup sensors? maybe the owned got tired of hearing the beep sound when too close to something backing up and cut the wire!

    Re: 2005.5 S4 question

Ask the dealer about it. It's a CPO so you have that factory warranty in your pocket. It's no big deal for the dealer to make sure everything is kosher for you to do the deal. I'm not sure about the price but it sounds pretty reasonable. Is this what they are going for in your area? Be sure you are accounting for the fact it is CPO. You can go to Joe's Korner Kar Lot and find one for less but are you willing to sacrifice the peace of mind?

It's not bad... think, you can go buy a new one with those options for $50k... or save the $20k and have almost the same car. It's up to you!

    Re: 2005.5 S4 question

Sounds about right. I just bought pretty much the same car - CPO 2005.5 loaded but without NAV with 25k miles for $32,000 last month. I am a picky bastard and wanted black on black and 6MT so I flew to New Hampshire to get it.
