Car Shaking only when accelerating

I have a 03 A4 1.8T FWD CVT, last night on my way home my car started shaking very violently but only when i hit the gas, everything was fine when i let the gas go, so i doubt it will be any kind of aligment problem, no check engine light or anything else is on... Just shaking when hitting the gas.
Has anybody else had this problem, Wha do you guys think it is??
I dropped it off at a shop this morning so just getting a heads up on what it might be.

One or more of your four ignition coils went out. You need to replace it. Costs around 40$ each.

Thanx Guys, I have been reading up on this and I see that alot of B6 owners have the same problem, I've been reading that alot of people keep spares in their trunk so maybe I should do that, I just need to learn how to replace them.

Where are they located at? and what kind of tools do i need?

The coil packs are located under your engine cover and the only tool you need is your key. Take your key and turn the 3 screws that hold down your engine cover and once you take this off you will see your coil packs. All you have to do at this point is just unclip it from the connector and pull it straight out, its as easy as that.

i have this same problem now but only around 50 - 65 mph range. Any help?? I did have violent shaking while accelerating and it turned out to be my CV Joint on the passenger side.

just a flathead screwdriver to unclip the harness. Pull straight up.

Do you guys think its the Rear Wheel bearing?

OK so I went to the shop and the guy told me it was a rear wheel bearing. He wanted to charge me 420 for parts and labor...I don't really think that is it so I just drove the car home.. On the way home the problem was gone. I drove to walmart and back home and still no shaking. So now I am wondering what it is. I am taking it in to another shop to see what they tell me.

What do you guys think it is. Do you guys think its the coilpack or is it something else.??

does your engine sound like a subaru? i blew a single coil it was mis-firing like there was no tomorrow. shook and rumbled the whole way back to the shop

its a torn cv boot..and axle may be gone

had that problem last month and had to replace both

Buy a replacement coilpack.

Put it in your trunk for future use.

Stop worrying.

Ok yesterday i was driving to my moms and i made a left gettin to her house and it started shaking and the Engine light started blinking, so now it shakes even at idle..so i defenitely have to get them replace...car shuts off when i try to reverse...
