Tried to search and couldn't find anything. Need a new hood stand arm..don't know how but mine broke, anyone know where to purchase said item. Thanks in advance!

It's like $40 at the dealer. Just tell them you need the hood strut. I can hunt down the part number if you really need it.

Do you have warranty?

I replaced mine under warranty last year... I just told them: "I opened the hood and it fell on my head!!"

sucks about the head...but no warranty...if its only $40 form the dealer I will just get it there....it looks like a simple install, not much holding that thing on there. Thanks guys

After shipping, it will cost the same as from the dealer. Why not get the OEM part locally for the same price?

Called the dealer and they said $53. Plus they are a 40 min drive and have awful hours that I can never make. Parts is listed as an OE replacement....can't imagine there is much difference in a part like this.

Convenience is a whole 'nother issue.............

But OE doesn't mean crap, China makes most OE parts.......................

lol maybe you did not get it, but I told them that just to make things look worse and have them replace it without too much bitching.. It never actually fell on my head.

Dealer is close, tax doesn't effect my purchasing decisions. And gas doesn't really either if it's within' 45 minutes of me.

Part came....German made with Audi part number on it....no China here
