Hey guys, I might as well make this a two in one post here. I made it to the track tonight and ended up with a best of a 11.8 @ 118 (1.75 60ft) and a best trap of 11.9 @ 121 (2.0 60ft, lots of tire spin). On a side note, I downloaded the Dynolicious app for my iPhone and I can't believe how good this thing works! Here i will post my timeslip results vs. the dynolucious results:

    Track:
    2.0 - 60 ft
    5.279 - 330 ft
    7.865 - 1/8th
    96.92 - 1/8th mph
    10.105 - 1000ft
    11.973 - 1/4
    121.41 - 1/4 mph

    Dynolicious results:

75 shot jets are in the mail. I have to order a wideband as well, so I can see where my afr's are. My fuel jet me be a little over conservative which is only hurting my apr softwares over conservative tune, lol.

It fits perfect in the cup holder up against the radio. I don't know how to explain it, may I can get a pic if you want.

It's apr software which is the most conservative ots out there. 118 is about the best trap for and apr car so 3 mph with no traction in the launch is not to bad for a little untuned 50 shot.

Nice runs, but I think with a new tune you could be low 11's. Thanks for posting the info on dynolicious. Now I have to get an iPhone.

also i was wondering why your doing a 50 shot vs a water/meth kit? how much better are you expecting to run with a better tune..

where do you get that 118apr is the best trap. I ran a 11.77 @ 120.63 on apr stage 3 with race gas and dumps. I have hit a 121.xx mph. so i would expect with a 50 shot you should be in the 123 or so. unless your running it through a full exhaust.

I just got my meth kit installed and im looking to run a high 11 with pump now.

    nice run tho.

Grab the update and calibrate it. I use it in my Jetta Wagon and it's accurate like his, but in the A4 I can't mount it any where, it falls out of my cupholder above the radio.

why not just use 0% DTL? That way you will get wheel horsepower out of the program.

Also, you can go by a junkyard and weigh your car to get an "actual" weight.

Obviously, but that is why wheel horsepower and crank horsepower are different. When you enter 0% DTL into Dynolicious, it does not apply a correction factor and the horsepower it reports is equal to the horsepower you actually feel....you know, the wheel horsepower.

no, it wouldnt... whp is the power you put down to the wheels AFTER drivetrain loss... 0% correction would be chp or crank hp, not whp.... 22% would be more like whp

I hate to sound like an ass, but here goes.

Do you even know how the program works???? The accelerometers in the iPhone / iPod touch detect the acceleration of the car AS IT PUTS ITS POWER TO THE PAVEMENT. (I might add, that this is the definition of wheel horsepower). Therefore, to estimate the crank horsepower, the program takes your measured horsepower (which MUST be wheel horsepower) and uses the estimated drivetrain loss (let's say ~22%, why not) to converts it to crank horsepower.

example: I was playing around with Dynolicious one night, made a horrible launch, end up measuring 14.7 @ 104 1/4 mile with 242 HP. If I had input a 22% DTL, the same data would have resulted in:

    1 - 22% DTL = 78%
78% (power after drivetrain loss) = 242 HP
    242 / .78 = 310.25 CRANK horsepower

Correct, but im pretty sure the App applies the correction to get Crank Horsepower, not wheel

Since no one has commented on this here it goes. It looks like dynolicious can be pretty accurate but I am still pretty skeptical about its precision. It just doesn't seem like its that consistent. I know you did more than 1 run run at the track. How did the other runs compare with dynolicious?

In this case, the two of us are saying the exact same thing.

The only frame of reference the program can possibly has is what the wheels put to the ground.

Since we agree that dynolicious applies a correction (based on the % DTL) to get crank HP, then we must conclude that it actually measures wheel HP. Therefore, entering a 0% DTL will result in no correction and display your wheel horsepower.

    Agreed?

Picture of the mounting arrangement please!

I bought an iPhone shortly after I saw this app was available. I wanted the phone before but this put me over the top! Plus there's a free A4 driving game!

I used 25% for drivetrain loss... should I use less like 22%? I also need to get my car weighed and figure out how much gas weighs! lol

It's 12.99 I just got laid off and it's still not to expensive to play with IMO. Buck up and buy it for some fun.
