Cars + women + makeup = stupid idea

Today going north on Kunia Rd I passed a girl driving a late 90s early 00 Jetta. When I passed her I noticed she was doing her eye liner at 45 MPH. I was like man that is an accident waiting to happen. Continued down the road and eventually merged into the left lane. All the cars ahead of me stopped and I slowed and stopped as well. Needless to say I looked in my rearview and saw a red Jetta barreling down at me not even trying to stop. I checked my right side and pulled out of traffic onto the shoulder only to hear the screech of tires and smell burning rubber as she locked up her brakes way too late. When she finally came to a stop the nose of her car was equal to where my backseat would have been had I not moved out of the way. I just looked at the stupid wench and shook my head. I'm sure the Toyota in front of me was waiting to get rear ended. Then pulled back into the lane once traffic was moving again. As I rejoined traffic I took one final look in my mirror to see what this fugly cow was doing and guess what she was upto? You guessed it driving and applying her eye makeup. Some people just never learn. I should have hit the brakes and let the makeup brush take out her eye as she rear ended me. But I figured she could learn that lesson on someone elses car. Preferably a BMW.

Trust me nick, you saved yourself a lot of trouble by not letting her rear end you. You would have totally regretted it. But, yep we have a bunch of stupid people on our roads. I had some pretty close calls with my 8 as well because other drivers weren't paying attention.

Wow, I would have giving her a mouth full for all of that. Im glad you were able to keep your composure to not say anything and like the previous poster said your better off not letting her rear end you, that would have been a sticky situation that is better off not happening.

Man I remember seeing this guy reading a book on the freeway. Just straight up holding the book on his steering wheel and reading.. It was sort of a wide open highway though.

Wide open straight multi lane road is one thing but a busy one lane each way that has hills and curves is something completely different. Still I wouldn't suggest reading while driving.

I was following a guy in a Mercedes S class back on the mainland once. I could see him drinking from a can of soda through his rear window. He didn't look like the best driver to begin with, but I followed and kept my distance. I noticed he got to the bottom of the can because his head was fully tilted back with the can in the air like he was trying to get every last drop or something...then BAM! rear ended the car in front of him. I was just happy I was paying attn. because I was able to stop with plenty room, pass, rubberneck (admit it, all of you do it), shake my head, and continue on.

I've seen people reading newspapers/books, putting on makeup, shaving, eating, drinking, etc. Surprisingly, I was once able to drive, watch a movie, eat, and talk on the phone when I was an idiot in college. Granted it was open road on a long trip to Tahoe.

yep, there are a bunch of retards out there...

one thing i noticed about hawaii, NO ONE USES THE LEFT LANE AS IT SHOULD BE...

and I get the evil eye everytime i pass on the right, or try and sneak in front of the shmuck clogging the left lane... i'm actually looking forward to not driving for 7 months when i get to the desert :(

yeah, i'd say that's one of my biggest pet peeves here. not only is our speed limit extremely low (on all roads, not just the highway) but the slowest drivers tend to move over to the left lane. i have no shame passing on the right...i know where i'm going and i want to get there. if people are in my way, i'm going to go around. not a dangerous move in my book.

no, it isn't dangerous unless you are like me, and i occasionally take my anger out on the accelerator when i finally get a chance to pass, THEN the prick in the left wants to finally move over to the right...

people around here don't like using turn signals either...

Lack of turn signals here really pisses me off. You have to move your finger like two inches to do it.

The people I have to pass on the right because they are doing 52 in the left lane ticks me off as well.

The biggest agitators for me are when I actually signal to go around the clown who is driving slow as hell and one of two things happen. The slow driver speeds up and blocks you with the car to his right or the clown behind you in the right lane speeds up so they can be ahead of you before you change lanes like you are trying to take their place in line and then slows back down.

the problem with that is that a lot of the time when you put your blinker on to get in front of someone, they speed up... i'm guilty of the blinker WHILE lane change sometimes, most of the time i only switch lanes if i can see the guys front tires in the lane i'm trying to move into, tells me there is PLENTY of space between he and i...

Why do people brake when the light is green? That bugs the crap out of me. Also when they slow down to almost a complete stop to make turn. WTF!
