hi everyone, name is kelvin living in lincoln nebraska and ive got an 02 audi a6 2.7t with tiptronic. 86k miles and its my daily driver right now. im no expert on these cars, but i love the look and the modifications ive read about that i can do to it. right now its stock, but it needs some maintenence before anything. exterior i plan on a spoiler (rs6?) smoked taillights, and some headlights that are not foggy. for performance i was looking at a giac or apr engine chip, along with a giac transmission chip. for wheels i have not decided, but im open to suggestions.

ive also got some side projects other then this that im currently working on. first off i have a 1994 eclipse gsx that is in the process of becoming a drag car. its almost done and should hopefully be around 6-700whp, high 9 car trapping around 140mph. i also have a 1969 baja bug thats on hold becuase the dual port 1600 decided to blow a piston through the case.

here are a few pictures of my audi that ive taken in the past few days. im no expert at taking pictures as you can see :)

You're in for a treat (but how much HP in Eclipse? whew!). And as you'll hear from all on this forum you need to do timing belt and water pump. And while at it maybe look into down pipe changes along with your GIAC chip(s). Gigi has similar GIAC modded tiptronic. Minor other changes go with chip - diverters, for example.

Looks like sport suspension on 17s or 18s?

Exterior is another story and 5 guys will give you six suggestions. Not sure what to make of the rims (too much black for me), but if you're doing stark black/white, change grille, debadge rear and put on black rings, presumably clear corners on headlights (?). All very cheap. Smoked tails to match rear license plate surround looks nice on light color C5s.

How "foggy" are your headlights? I'm looking for a used set.

    Enjoy!

stock suspension, it must be how the car sits? tires are 245/45/17s if that tells you anything. i havent tried sanding the headlights yet, but the meguiars plastix didnt do much at all. the driver side headlight cleared up alittle, but the passenger has alot of debris in it, so i think the seal is broken or something might be wrong with it (condensation accumulates)

when i do decide to modify, i was looking at putting it all on at the same time. ecu chip, tranny chip, diverters and upgraded charge pipe. exhaust wise i havent found much other then the rs6 exhaust, but i cant find that anywhere. any suggestions?

    Re: new member

Search threads in A6 forum -- quite a bit on this. APR, AWE, ESP, VAST have downpipes and/or catbacks. Some guys use Magnaflow components and less expensive custom pipes with local installation (see Endee). I just have gutted piggies then original. One issue is "free-flow" cats vs. pipes, of course (and related O-2 sensors, check engine lights, emissions & inspections); the others are sound/performamce (mostly the former if gutted or free-flows are in place). And no, our exhausts are not same as S4 2.7s. And I'm not sure if your tip is even same exhaust set-up as my manual (Daft is expert on all that is engineering around here -- I can only pass on what I absorbed in last several months with my "new" C5 6sp)

Condensation = seal problem. I'm appalled at price of new ones. You have to buy the whole enchilada. Hence my pouncing on you your first day on forum.

There are different "stock" suspensions. Your stock is a lot lower than mine was, so I presume you may have "sport" stock suspension. Folks here gently laughed at my "stock". Neighborhood dogs used to be sleeping on my wheels when I came out in mornings.

Frank -- I guess I missed your winter wheel decision while away -- what did you decide (and why no accompanying image with your post here?)

Talk to this guy on Ebay
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...4506.m20.l1116

He imports directly from Japan so you can tell him what you want and when he finds it will get it over here for you at a almost unbeatable price.
He can find the rarist stuff and I've dealt with him many times before, he's good people.
