has anyone had to trim the lenght of the silicone couplers? I put them into place and it seems with the lenght of the couplers, they dont fit even close to how they should....? Seems though if you shortened the couplers they would fit ok?

Is that that the only thing that you guys had to modify. My shop just told me they had to modify the actual pipe itself on the end. That makes no sense to me. Doesn't the couplers secure the piping to the turbos?

No, the inlet fits directly onto the turbo housing (metal to metal). The coupler is what connects the lower inlet to the upper inlet. Theres been reports that the vibations from the inlets could cause turbo failures since its bolted to the block. So what you can do is cut off the end of the inlet (the end that fits on to the turbo housing) and add a transition coupler to the turbo housing, then add the inlet. Cutting down vibration to the actual turbo. I'm sure we/ve all seen pictures of silicone couplers from turbo housing to inlet. thats the reason.

Regarding your other question that the shop had to modify the actual pipe, i had to do this ( and this was with OEM RS4 inlets) on the passenger side. The driver side OEM RS4 inlets fit perfectly. But the passenger side didnt, I had to take a dremmel and take a layer off from inside till it fit correctly.

Anyways, if any one is looking for THREE OEM RS4 inlets i have them. They're triple wrapped in heatreflective tape and are shaved down to fit k04's. I say i only have three because the shop i bought them from sold me two upper passenger side inlets and they didnt feel like correcting the problem. got diffrent ones and i have these left over, I do have four pipes but you'l need to find somone selling one driver side upper inlet by its self.

Thanks for everyones help. I was suppose to get genX inlets but I was on a time limit and 034 just came out with theirs when I needed them. But the shop ended up not working on my car for another few weeks after they got the 034 inlets. Oh well thats why it sucks now living in hawaii. Oh and Issam was very helpful through the process and help me spend more money then I was planning on.

Well I dont agree on maxing CCs out, I dont owe anything to any company( CC,Loans). I think that is the best situation. I feel the CC is there to make my S happy since it needs it ALoT,lol.

Once you go over 70% of your limit your credit starts to go down. You just need to buy somthing and pay it on time. It dosent need to be crazy epensive. BTW, Are we in the B5 S4 section?
