Since picking up my car in April, my wipers have always had a mind of their own. Most recently however, they can't make a full pass of the windshield. No matter what setting I try on the stalk, the wipers get stuck. The only fix is to get out of the car and manually push the the wipers and the lever at the same time. Anyone else experienced this before? Wiper motors gone bad?

    Re: wiper motors

Yes, i just recently experienced the same problem. I originally thought it was the wiper motor to, however upon further investigation it turned out to be the wiper (track)that the the wiper arms connect to. The problem with it is that the pivots on the (track) are not sealed very good so when water gets down in there they rust and seize up.

I have an 05s4, mine just did this a month ago. It was the wiper arms between the blades and the motor that went bad, which in turn caused the motor to go bad. I don't remember the bill, but it was around $500 I think.
