If you look at the pictures it shows the screen between the guages as giving directions and it also shows the nav pad by the e-brake. But where is the screen? It has the symphony 2 radio? I don't get it.

Screen is between the two gauges on the main dash - it's not the nav you're used to these days. I've got one if you want me to post pics or have any other questions.

That is the old nav system. Had it on my 04 s4. It'll get you where you need to go but no cool map to look at. RNS-E nav is by far superior and is a quick plug and play with a car that came with that nav setup.

Ok cool thanks. Was just browsing through the classifieds and saw it. Still new to the S4.

I was looking to upgrade my Symphony 2 to a RNS-E will it work right withought the nav pad since I don't have the Nav in my S4 currently.

Yes. I have a 2004 S4 without original factory navigation and I added an RNS-E. It comes with a click-dial on the unit itself that you use for selection, and it also shows the navigation instructions on the dash display just like the old one did. The RNS-E navigation screen is great, but the dash display allows you to follow simple nav instructions while you have another screen up, e.g., MP3 or satellite radio. I generally switch back to the screen when I get into an area I don't know at all that has quite a few turns in short order. On the interstate I generally just use the dash display.

    Bottom line...get the RNS-E! You'll love it!

Definitely the old nav system. Not bad, just not typical. The RNS-E is a major improvement.

Damn, S4s are just so damn cheap in CA.

That car would be $24-25k here in the MD area.
