brakes are killin me

my brakes work great, but for some reason when i come to a slow/gradual stop they squeak really bad. if i come to a hard stop there is no noise. but if i come in real slow and easy they do. any ideas of what this may be and how to fix it? i know the easiest thing to do is just brake hard

did you check your pads? maybe they are worn down?

What kind of pads do you have? "Performance" pads will be noisy when stopping slowly because of the material. At least this was always my understanding, a soft pad will be quite but doesn't give the performance many of us want.

My Hawk HPS pads squeel sometimes. That just means they are working!

get some of that antisqueal stuff from autozone

it doesnt sound like a working squeel. its an o shit squeel. i got brake cleaner from autozone, didnt really work. ill look into the pads and antisqueel stuff.
