What did you upgrade from? Thoughts?

Also, I'm searching for used AWE ICs or RS4 ICs... get at me.

    Thanks!

I am going to be upgrading to ERs. I will be selling my AWE set eventually. Not in the near future, maybe in a month or two.

The largest, thickest, most IAT lowering side mount intercoolers currently on the market for the B5 S4 platform. . . .that don't come with shrouds. . . . . for a hefty price tag. . . . . from a company that is about 4 months overbooked on current orders.

Seriously though, what's the point of upgrading to such a large, expensive intercooler? Just purchase some cheap intercoolers like RS4's and add water/meth for cheaper. Everyone is running water/meth injection like from VAST. You will never see a better IAT and timing curve.

ER's+Aquamist is way better than RS4's and meth. Ive posted this before, but its relevant. Blue is with HFS-1 on and Red is with HFS-1 off. -15* FTW.

Shrouds are releasing in a week. Those who already have them on order will be getting theirs in November.

They're priced similarly with SMIC upgrades from other companies. MSRP pricing is misleading as Dealers don't sell at that price anymore.

We've caught all backorders and current have inventory in stock. We're currently on another production run which should carry us through to the end of the year. Get them from any of our authorized dealers while they last!

    Good question.

Anyways I've always though the SMICs from ER and AWE are kind of the same.

To the OP, don't go with the RS4 SMIC there was a thread comparing all three of these and the RS4 wasn't even a good fit and not as good as AWE or ER.

$1,395 MSRP for Basic Kit (no shrouds). $1,595 MSRP with carbon fiber shrouds. There are many dealers here that sell them so best to contact them for what actual retail is.

Re: To those who upgraded to ERs..

Don't you need real RS4 fenders to fit an RS4 bumper?

If anyone has ever put our SMIC on, they'll know that we literally take up every inch of available space. They're the biggest that will fit an S4.

Our SMIC's are larger than the AWE SMIC's.

BTW, I forgot to mention. With the shrouds, IAT's get even better.

No, that is their own intercooler I believe.

They sell our SMIC's, whether or not they're on their website I do not know. We have sent a few to them so far.

    upgraded from Rs4's

the amount of a pita it is to even get the rs4's to fit makes the ER's worth it

Even easier would be the AWE's- but I have seen firsthand data that the Er's are better at keeping IAT's down across the band better
