    Fair Price For Repairs?

I brought my car to my local Audi dealership to get my driver's window checked out. They said the rivets were worn and needed to be replaced. They also did a scan of the rest of the car.

    The estimate:
    $196.79 Replace rivets in window

    $535.00 O2 sensor

    $221.39 Engine Coolant Temp Sensor

$219.00 Right Side Tie Rod End Loose
    $229.00 Alignment

What should I DIY? What should I have the dealer do?

Check some more dealerships. Most Audi dealerships charge $109 for an alignment. Somethings wrong at the place that gave you the quotes.

Ahahahahah Are you f'king kidding me? That's a $15 part and a 3 second install/swap. Any monkey can replace the Temp Sensor with 1 eye and a hook for a hand.

You can buy o2 sensors for a hell of a lot cheaper then that, and if your not afraid to get under the car it would be cake.

Get your alignment somewhere else, most places charge $90, NOT $230.

If you can take off your wheel, the tie rod end should be easy to "tighten" if it doesn't need replacing, just re tightened.

Don't know about the rivets, sorry.

This place is trying to rob you of money. Go somewhere else... actually, anywhere else would probably be better. I'm sure there are some reputable shops in NJ that can help you out.

LOL...rivets in the widow is cheap as hell and diy (just take the panel off the door)

coolant temp sensor: $30 and about a 5min job.
tie rod end is a simple diy and the whole assembly is less than $100 (if it even needs replacing)
the alignment will cost you around $100 as well.

I would like to thrash you for asking. NEVER EVER go to the dealership. That is your last option. Alignment is the only thing on that list that is not diy. Even that should cost $150 max. Those prices are pillage.

    +1

All those are easy to do yourself. You could do them in the street with some hand tools.

Yeah I have an aftermarket warranty so thats why I brought it there, but the warranty doesn't cover any of that stuff so that sucks.

Do you know if they are replacing all of your O2 sensors? It seems a little on the high end if they are just doing one.
